German police are currently training their dogs to accept wearing shoes. The blue plastic fibre shoes are to protect the dogs’ feet in an effort to protect their pads from injury.

The German Shepherds and Belgian Shepherds on the police force have been receiving injuries to their pads due to all the broken glass on the streets.

Thankfully, they are making an attempt to protect the dogs’ pads but with the shoes being made from plastic, the dogs are certain to develop fungus and other problems related to excessive moisture and heat. I hope it works out well in the long run.
